Do people really get offended by the Hetalia dub?

If so, tell me why and/or what offended you.

Haaa unnecessarily detailed reply ahoy!

I’ll second the rest of everyone replying else and say that the Nazi jokes in Season 1 reaaaaally rubbed me wrong. I mean, a big misconception about Hetalia pre-dub was that it made light of the very serious parts of WW2, which it didn’t; Himaruya carefully avoided those topics (specifically things that offensive-for-the-sake-of-being-offensive humor employs heavily, like Nazi and Holocaust jokes). The dub just charged through and made all of those jokes, which upset me.
I felt and to an extent still feel like they misinterpreted what the series was, and in a way gave the fans a bad name. The characters too; I feel that kind of humor did an incredible disservice to Germany’s character. Those jokes felt so out of nowhere, y’know? I do watch and enjoy the rest of the dub, and they did get better about it as time went on, but I feel like they really got off on the wrong foot there.
